Basically... Oh wow!

The days just fly by! It's quickly nearing Febuary 2012. I've done a lot... Really, I have. Baking, photography, writing... And even discovered just how much I love Hstory and English. My score in Latin continues to be unbroken in vocal tests and my room is a sufficient mess that seriously needs to be cleaned up. No lie. I Ferlinghetti like in these short 26 days that I've matured some and have made a quiet pact to speak up more in class! How's this fine month been for you so far? xx Maeve

I haven't posted all year! {Eheu!}

Latin injoke. How was your New Year's Eve? Mine was great. My family was around the fire, nibbling on Quality Street chocolate and watching Jools' Holland, as we do most years! We all stood to the Scottish anthem - which was strange, seeing as we're not Scottish - and watched on til the end of the programme. I was dead tired, but really happy. 2012 would be a good year. I wrote my resolutions yesterday morning and sealed them in an envelope. I also opened up last years. I had only done about half of the six, and none of them were particularly difficult. This year, I hope to succeed and do all of the five I want. One of them is to be 'regret free'. I know I made some silly mistakes - one very silly one which I'm still trying to forget - last year, but I don't want that to be the case. This year, I do it fearlessly or I don't do it at all. I shall have no regrets. Another is to keep in touch with old friends. This will be a challenge, as I'm really, really, REALLY bad at that kind of thing. I've also made a goal of reading fifty books. I finished one this morning, which admittedly I started 'last year', but anyway... my dad said I looked exhausted the minute I finished reading it. Whoops. Yesterday my family and I watched the new episode of Sherlock. Did any of you? It was quite good, but not as good as the last series. If you haven't heard of it, it's a modern take on the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle made by the BBC. The next episode is the Hounds of Baskerville. My sister has challenged me to read it before Sunday - the next episode. I'll either start it today or tomorrow. I downloaded it on Goodreads earlier! Although I'm living it with no regrets, I really need to add some sort of pictures to these posts. I've a feeling that it isn't fun to read pictureless posts...

And thus ends 2011

I'm not sure how 2011 whizzed by so quickly. If I could ask it how, I would, but 2011 would be gone by the time I figured out how to do so. I don't know if anyone remembers me doing a similar post last year - or was it 2009? Anyway, I'm going to just pick out some of the highlights from 2011. January - Nothing much really went on. I know I couldn't believe that it was 'finally 2011!' February - This was a fairly busy month for me! March - I made my Confirmation in March, so a lot of time went into that! April - The thing that I really remember so clearly about April is the weather. It was amazing and hot! I wore shorts and tank-tops for a lot of the time! May - as far as I recall, May was a fairly quiet month! June - Graduated from Primary school! July - summer, birthday and photography! August - making the move to secondary school. September - made new friends October - A sad month in many regards... November - Nothing much, I suppose! December - EXAMS! And of course, Christmas! Happy new year!

Christmas :3 I

Can you believe that Christmas is over already? It went by in a flash! I'm going to tell you all the gifts I recieved! If you don't want to find out, or you think that I'm being spoilt by showing you what I got, look away now, or close that tab, because there's no point in reading then. I'm not spoilt, and I appreciate every gift I got this Christmas!

From my sister I got a bow clip thing for my hair. It's black and white, it's big and it's really really nice!
It's kind of similar to this one:

Then, from my other sister I got some Hershey's kisses {which, by the way, aren't that nice, but I'm still really happy and grateful she got them for me!} and a kind of a cookie baking set, which includes two different sizes of gingerbread cookie cutters and star cookie cutters, and a cookbook about decorating and baking cookies. It's really sweet, but I can't seem to find a picture of it. I was looking for a nice gingerbread man shape cookie cutter for weeks and was really pleased with that in particular!

From my Gran I got a really nice fluffy dressing gown! I'm wearing it right now, it's so warm. I also got a few pairs of socks from her.
This one to be precise!

From my Nana I got a tan coloured dress and warm PJs!

From my granddad I got money.

From my parents I got...
KIT! I love her to pieces! She is so adorable, and her shoes are to die for. Her eyes are a beautiful colour and yeah. She's so beautiful! I also got her accessories.

From my auntie I got a red bag {which will be used as a gym bag, which I've been trying to find forever!}, a nice t-shirt and some perfume. Really generous!

I loved everything I got so much {except for a gift of sylvanian family babies from my cousin/kris kindle, which although are adorable, I'm way too old {IMO} for them, but they can be 're-gifted' to someone who will appreciate them more!}, and am really grateful. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, and enjoy the coming days. I'll be sure to post a final post before 2012 :)

We wish you a {very} Christmas {post}!

Needless to say, I am bored AND excited for Christmas! I changed up the background a little bit, but it won't last. Once I'm in the mood I'll try to get round to some real work on fixing it up nicely, for now you're stuck with argile. Sad. So this post will be jammed with Christmas things - likes mainly, but not just!
First off, some pinterest things! I'm really in a gingerbread kind of mood, that wrapping paper is amazing, and that present looks amazing and those baubles are adorable! I might be taking all these things into account when preparing my final few gifts!

'Tis the season for fair isle jumpers. I have one, but it's slightly in tatters. I need a new one. Need. And then, the other pictures are just further inspiration!

Although I wouldn't like colourful lights or baubles on my Christmas tree, they do make rather a pretty picture! I love the bokeh so much. I am definitely off to make a Christmas tree or two when this post is finished with!

So, there are all my pinterest loves. Expect a gingerbread recipe tomorrow or so, they are seriously the best things you've ever tasted. My recipe allows for a nice softness too, which is appreciated by the 'consumers' so to speak!

We got our Christmas tree yesterday, and my sister and I decorated it! It's so pretty, and although some of the decorations aren't so nice as others, and they're not uniformed, and some were made by us when we were small, it looks just the same as it did {the tree, though, is wider!} every other year, which makes me really happy.

Santa is amazing. That is all.
